Well - here I am... for those of you wondering out there my second interview went well. (or at least I think it did.) I was as honest, open and me as I could be - maybe that's a bad thing - but I really tried to be relaxed and casual and fun. There were 5 people in the committee mtg - two teachers, a parent, a superinterndent's assistant and the principal. It was a little intimidating b/c they ask how I use technology in my classroom - uh hello? what technology? I don't even have a screen to use an overhead projector... I've had a dead bulb in my classroom since November that leaves a dark space in my room. I have four busted computers... and how do I use technology? well - i saved myself by saying this is how I would use technology if I had it in my room...
What else did they ask? They asked about assessments, SS curriculum, knowing my students, etc... so I think it went well - but I was stupid for not asking - what was the next stage in the process.. I have no idea if I should be preparing a demo lesson or if this is it... I really don't want to do a demo - I think they're stupid - it's a false representation of what you would really look like in a room - but whatever - if they want it - I'll do it - but that would make me a bit nervous. I wonder if they would put a candidate through two interviews and a demo and then not hire them at all - obviously they thing that the teacher has some potential to ask to see them again... but who knows - it's totally up to them....
If it doesn't work out - it was a great experience and it has made this whole interview/finidng a job in westchester more possible and less scary. So... if it doesn't work out - I'll keep looking...if it does work out - then I'll be singing HIS praises!
Other than that - I think I have a new cavity - just in time for my annual check up next week... argh - I hope it's not and I just have something jammed in between my teeth - but I have a feeling it's a cavity... =P
Other than that - there's not much - JA SPJ and I are babysitting this Friday - it should be pretty exciting. I'm psyched - it should be fun to hang out with the babes while their parents have a fun night out! hee hee
well - anyway - i'm getting sleepy - have a good night all...
