All for His Glory...

so you want the update...
my mtg with the superintendent went fine... he showed up 30 minutes late and barely spoke of my lesson... that's fine I guess - he'll see the lesson on Friday. But we were talking about where I'm from - and he said... "we have a lot of orientals in the district" - and i think my heart just stopped for a minute before I could respond with "uh, yeah..."

I can't believe a man who has been a superintendent of more than one district and who is in a public position with a good amount of power can still be saying "orientals" - argh! I couldn't tell him he was wrong so I just smiled and nodded... until the end of the conversation which by the way - i don't remember well... then he stood up and said "so when am I going to observe you?" - ugh! I wanted to say - "What - you don't know?" but instead I said "next Friday" with a smile.

it's ok - as long as he observes me on Friday and likes what i do... so pray that he comes on time and that the observation goes well.

on a side note- of course I'm sick - I have two beautiful days off from work and i have a sore throat and a runny nose. oh well - I guess it forces me to just sit and chill... so here I am with a stack of papers to grade and planning of lessons to plan for but I'm writing on this thing...

I went for a walk this morning to the supermarket b/c I have no car today - ja took the car so he could come home at a decent hour - he's working two shifts today - crazy , eh?
so it was a good walk and I realized that I need to walk more - it wasn't hard - it was lovely, in fact... I'm just so dependent on my car that I forget the simple pleasures of life...

today's to do list: iron clothes, move winter clothes into closet and pack up summer clothes, grade projects, plan lessons, read a book, make lunch/dinner

i think I'll end up reading a book outside and maybe making that lunch/dinner... the other stuff might have to wait.... not a priority on my day off =P hee hee

okok - i'll iron something....or I'll do laundry or something.... maybe.

I hope you got outside today -- wasn't it gorgeous? And I hope you feel better, you crazy Oriental.
