It's another hot one... so stay cool all y'al out there!

The birth of babyJ (congrats S and J) has got me thinkin'... i know all of you think I'm thinkin' I want one...
but that's not quite what I'm thinkin'...
I'm thinking of a father's love... it's really a beautiful thing and there's nothing quite like it.

Our God and Father - he loves us so sweetly, gently and desires ALL the best for us. Sometimes it's easy to forget about our father's love because we get caught up in what we love... and what we think that is best. So i was meditatin' on John 3:16 - common I know - yet so powerful

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

did you ever notice the next verse? For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

so I think I understand some songs better now... like that song,

"I love your love, gonna shout it out aloud/ I love your love, gonna tell the world about it/ I love your love, cause I've found it to be true - and I'll live to love you too.

just another song that's been on my heart lately - an old one (of course)

I believe in Jesus
I believe He is the Son of God
I believe He died and rose again
I believe He came for us all

I believe that He's here now
Standing in our midst
Here with the POWER to heal us
and the GRACE to forgive...

as a kid - that song was just kinda pretty
as an adult - it brings me to a place of humility... and gratitude...

it's really God's kindness that brings me to a place of repentance...

So forgive me, God - for living my own way again and let me live in your ways...Amen.
